As the September school schedule settles into a routine, the shift from summer to fall begins to slow so that we remember things we wanted for the year, remember how time stretches even as the days grow shorter, pull together pieces of ourselves that we set aside when the year felt fresh. We find the solid things, the nurturing things, the life things, and we hold on. They’re more meaningful now, something old and deep inside us knows.
